It's all in the editing (Part 2)

Take a look at the two video clips below. The clip on top is a segment from a piece we produced for a local college. The clip on the bottom is the same piece, minus music and b-roll.

After viewing the first clip, many people might assume that Cristina gave us a very good soundbite for the video. Cristina is exceptionally articulate, but we stitched together bits from over 1 hour of interview to tell that part of her story.

We not only took 9 or 10 separate bites and pulled them together to make one compelling soundbite, we also put in a thoughtful pause before her final comment.

It's very satisfying to hear someone say, "That was a great interview!" Often, it's a combination of interviewing skills and editing.
